About
Michelle Dimarob
As the Senior Advisor of Public Affairs and Coalitions to the House Ways and Means Committee, Michelle knows that the voices of local families and job creators shape the actions of Congress. But it is the arsenal of campaign tactics that Michelle built in Congress – combined with more than a decade of media, lobbying and coalitions work at a Fortune 500 company and America’s preeminent small business organization – that makes her the ideal strategic partner for any campaign.
Michelle holds a Master of Arts in Speech Communication from the University of Oklahoma, a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from California State University, Fresno and a Certificate in Wine Management from the Sonoma State Wine Business Institute. She resides in Virginia with her husband Andrew and their golden retriever, Sophie. An avid fan of college basketball, in the off season she spends her spare time honing her floral design skills and finding forever homes for homeless dogs.
“I have witnessed firsthand Michelle’s ability to turn seemingly impossible challenges into victories. Her dedication to advancing meaningful policy is unwavering, and her passion makes her a force to be reckoned with. Any organization would be fortunate to have her in its corner.”
A proven political strategist, coalition consensus builder, and communications leader for Fortune 500 companies and main street business associations, Michelle’s extensive experience includes:
Advocating for Highly Politicized and Highly Regulated Industries: For a decade, Michelle led lobbying efforts for industries in the cross hairs of both legislative and regulatory scrutiny, including cannabis, wine, and tobacco. She also spearheaded policy development for new and emerging issues, including leading corporate engagement with the Coalition for Cannabis Policy, Education, and Regulation (CPEAR).
Executing Integrated Coalition Campaigns: Serving as Senior Advisor to House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI), Michelle created the diverse business and advocacy coalitions needed to build the political foundation that led to the “Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.” The inaugural coalition counselor to the committee, she often coordinated with stakeholders representing a variety of interests and political leanings in different capacities including hearings, committee investigations, and legislation. Michelle also managed the daily activities of the communications team and served as the committee’s lead spokesperson.
Developing and Advancing Health and Tax Policy: Michelle spent more than half a decade directing media relations and lobbying on health care affordability for NFIB’s 300,000 small business owners. While leading the Small Business Coalition for Affordable Health Care, the coalition secured repeal of a tax increase on small businesses mandated under the Affordable Care Act.
